2013/14 GOOD SPORTS Toll Tiwi Bombers Annual Presentation

Brilliant Toll Tiwi Bomber rover Ross Tungatalum was a runaway winner of the 2013/14 Toll Tiwi Bombers Best & Fairest Player Award announced at the weekends Tiwi Enterprise Motel function at the Wurrumiyanga, Bathurst Island. It was Tungatalum’s 3rd Club Champion win.

A former St Kilda listed player and 2012 NTFL Most Valuable Player Tungatalum’s form had him dominating the voting after Christmas to finish a convincing winner ahead of Runner-Up Aussie Wonaeamirri and third placed 2nd year defender Adam Tipungwuti.

In a year where the Toll Tiwi Bombers club used 65 individual players Ross Tungatalum played 13 games of a possible 16, Territory Thunder listed Wonaeamirri 10 (restricted by player management rules) and Adam Tipungwuti 11. 4th – 6th were defender Jason Puruntatameri, utility Dion Munkara & defender Albert Tipungwuti.

In a close contest the Toll Tiwi Bombers Leading Goalkicker Trophy went to Gerard Cunningham with 27 goals in 9 games from Ross Tungatalum (25), John Kelantumama (24) and Roy Kantilla (23).

The Toll Tiwi Bombers Most Consistent Player Award went to the Pularumpi based teenager Kevin Portaminni who was the only player who participated in every match.

The Toll Tiwi Bomber Best Team Man Trophy went to former AFL listed Demon Aussie Wonaeamirri who also took the Andrew McMillan Memorial Award for positive use of social media.

The Toll Tiwi Bombers Best First Year Player Award went to Jerome Tipuamantimirri and the Coaches Award to Adam Tipungwuti. Tipungwuti also became the first Toll Tiwi Bomber earlier in the month to win the NT News/NTFL Rising Star Award for the whole competition and is currently at College in Brisbane where he is also a member of the Queensland Under 18 Squad preparing for the AFL National Championships.

The Presidents Volunteer of the Year Award was split three ways with Team Manager Cindy-Lee MacDonald, Timekeeper Karen Wilson and Hydration Manager Graham Mintern being recognized.

The Club acknowledges the support of Major Corporate Sponsor TOLL Holdings, Major Support Corporate Sponsor Real Estate Central, Function Sponsor GOOD SPORTS and Venue Sponsor, The Tiwi Enterprise Motel.
